“She Tech Talks”: raising the profile of women in IT

One’s perspective...

Cora Scandroglio

Marketing & Communication Director, Econocom Italy

Promoting women in tech

To help combat gender underrepresentation in digital, Econocom has launched “She Tech Talks”, a programme of interviews showcasing women who have built a career in tech, with the aim of breaking down stereotypes and promoting new career aspirations.
The aim is simple: show that tech is a world of opportunities that are open to all talents.

A programme with a clear ambition

The aim of the “She Tech Talks” project is to promote female role models in IT. Posted on LinkedIn and YouTube, the interviews are living proof that the tech sector is open to everyone, whatever their background.

The objective is twofold:

  • Inspire female talents to join our teams
  • Increase the group’s appeal by showcasing career paths.

Key figures: the challenge of gender parity

Even today, tech is still a largely male-dominated industry.

This is largely due to the “leaky pipeline”: although girls often have better grades at school, they rarely go on to study ICT.

This is partly due to the lack of female role models in the industry. “She Tech Talks” helps break these stereotypes by providing a forum for women who have blazed a trail in tech.
