What does your job involve?

The Green Energy business unit I work in offers financing solutions for firms that want to reduce their energy bill. The idea is that the savings made help finance the new equipment, for example LED lighting, air conditioning or even solar panels. This is a recent offering from Econocom. My task is to make salespeople enthusiastic about selling it and help them clinch new deals. I support them in client meetings at least twice a week, I set up financial arrangements and I recommend technical solutions by calling on my network of partner constructors or installers.

What spurs you on each day?

I’m the all-rounder in the team and I like that role. I’m in sales and consultancy, I keep up to date on the latest regulations and I even work in communications and marketing. Each day is different and on a daily basis I learn from my contact with others, whether they’re clients, in-house talents or partners. I also like puzzling over ways to meet a client’s needs and finding financial arrangements. The challenge can be tough, but I love the cause. Environmental concern is part of who I am. Putting together big cases and pushing boundaries really motivates me day-to-day.

Would you advise a friend to apply for a job at Econocom?

It can be interesting for a young graduate to apply for a job at Econocom. Personally, when I was recruited I’d just graduated from École Polytechnique and I didn’t know anything about financing. But that wasn’t a problem. Econocom looks for talents with bright minds and motivation, not candidates that just fit set criteria. Of course, I’d especially recommend the Green Energy business unit. We’re like a family here. But with the firepower of a big firm!

Could you tell us a little anecdote to illustrate your work at Econocom?

I joined Econocom in 2014 as a financing account manager in Lille. But in 2018, I announced my intention to move to Toulouse. Yet I loved my job and didn’t want to leave Econocom. The company respected my plan. And now here I am in Toulouse, in the Green Energy business unit.

‘Econocom is a great place to learn how to grow, work with people who are different to you and discover a variety of lines of work.’
