Econocom Factory, a Econocom Group entity dedicated to the refurbishment and circular economy of digital equipment, reaches a new milestone following the acquisition of Back IT, a disability-inclusive enterprise based in Occitanie (France).

Already a purpose-driven company, Econocom Factory continues to deploy an impact-driven industrial model, combining digital circularity, reduction of IT’s environmental footprint, and the creation of lasting social value.

This acquisition brings its ambition to life by fully integrating the inclusion of people with disabilities at the very heart of its industrial operations, and by strengthening a model based on extending the lifespan of digital equipment.

Inclusion as a pillar of the industrial model

The integration of Back IT strengthens Econocom Factory’s industrial capabilities by increasing refurbishment volumes and consolidating its territorial footprint in France. It enables sustained support for the growth of professional clients’ circular IT projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality, reliability, and traceability.

With this disability-inclusive enterprise subsidiary, Econocom Factory makes inclusion a structural pillar of its development, by promoting the employment of people with disabilities in skilled digital refurbishment roles, supported by upskilling pathways, adapted working conditions, and structured professional support.

Industrial activities thus become a concrete lever for professional integration, at the intersection of social and environmental challenges. This new entity also represents an additional growth driver on which Econocom Factory will rely to support its responsible growth trajectory.

A strengthened value proposition for businesses

For its clients, this development translates into an enriched value proposition: an industrial capacity of nearly 200,000 refurbished IT devices per year (computers, tablets, and smartphones, excluding accessories and peripherals), a measurable environmental impact, and a social impact that can be directly integrated into their CSR strategies.

Stanislas Husson, CEO of Econocom Factory:

“The integration of Back IT enables us to very concretely strengthen our operational capacity, while maintaining the highest industrial standards in responsible digital practices.”

The Econocom Group will thus be able to offer its clients, both public and private, services delivered by this new entity, enabling them to concretely contribute to the inclusion of people with disabilities.

Econocom Factory positions itself as a committed industrial partner, capable of combining economic performance, regulatory requirements, and extra-financial value creation, in service of a circular and inclusive digital economy. This milestone is fully aligned with the Econocom Group’s strategy, which aims to optimise the use of technological resources by making the circular economy, digital decarbonisation, and social solidarity prerequisites of its development.
