Introduction

This Data Privacy Policy states Econocom’s obligations with respect to the personal data it gathers from you via its corporate website and the way Econocom uses it. It only applies to the websites of Econocom Group SE or of companies controlled by Econocom Group SE (collectively Econocom), which also feature this privacy policy. It does not apply to those Econocom websites which publish their own privacy policy.

You may visit Econocom’s websites without having to disclose your personal data.

However, to access certain services available on our websites, such as downloading documents or forms, or if you wish to receive information, sign up for our newsletter, or for any other specific reason, Econocom may ask you for your personal data. You are under no obligation to disclose personal data; if you do not wish to do so, you will simply be unable to use the services on the Econocom website.

Econocom may complete this privacy policy with additional information relating to a specific dealing with you.

  • To access our online services: personal information such as your name, telephone number, email address, and any other information relating to your request which might be collected via a specific form.

The personal data requested may either be optional or mandatory.

How your personal data is used

Your personal data will only be processed by Econocom if it is required for the purpose of implementing a contract, for another legitimate purpose for Econocom, or if you have given your express consent.

Your personal data is thus used for the following purposes:

  • Communication: to respond to your questions, requests or comments, and send you any requested documentation via email.
  • Recruitment: to use your CV or online application for recruitment purposes, which means we will be able to contact you by email, telephone or post.
  • Signing up: to receive our publications or newsletter or download them from our site. Certain data may be requested using a specific form for a particular event. If the event involves partners, the information you provide may be collected by or disclosed to the third party in question. • Online services: to enable our TMF clients to access our online claims service to report the loss or damage to equipment they lease with Econocom.

Automatically-collected non-personal data

Econocom undertakes not to disclose the identity of visitors to our website. Econocom may share general statistics about website visitors, data analysing their profile and other information with third parties involved in the website. These statistics shall under no circumstances contain any information that could reveal the identity of the people.

Cookies

Econocom uses cookies and other trackers on its websites. To find out more about how they are used and to configure them, please refer to our cookie policy.

Minors

Econocom may not collect information from people under the age of 16 without prior consent from a parent or legal guardian.

Security

Econocom has implemented certain technical and organisational measures to prevent any unauthorised access, misuse, disclosure, unauthorised alteration, illegal destruction or accidental loss of your personal data.

However, providing personal data (either directly on the website, by telephone or via the Internet) is never entirely risk-free and electronic communication systems cannot be completely protected from sabotage or hacking. The Internet is an open, insecure system and Econocom may not be held liable for the security of personal data transfer.

Data storage limitation

Econocom shall only store your personal data for as long as is necessary for the purpose of processing it, whilst bearing in mind the need to answer any questions or resolve difficulties, improve on or offer new services and comply with its legal obligations (for example, accounting and legal time limits for data storage). This means that Econocom may retain your personal data for a reasonable length of time once it has finished processing it, in accordance with the legal and regulatory restrictions which apply to Econocom (for example, accounting and legal time limits for data storage), and long enough to settle any disputes, or exercise or uphold Econocom’s rights in the countries it operates in.

Once we no longer require the personal data we collect, Econocom destroys and deletes it securely.

What we use your personal data for

The personal data we collect from you via the website is used solely by Econocom and for the purposes indicated in this privacy charter.

Econocom shall under no circumstances sell or disclose your personal data to any third parties.

Given Econocom Group’s international dimension, the personal data it collects may be stored or processed in, or sent to, any country in which Econocom Group operates. However, Econocom shall only grant access to your personal data to subsidiaries of Econocom Group when necessary.

In the event that personal data is sent to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) which are not covered by adequate data protection laws, we shall ensure that the standard contractual clauses for the transfer of personal data to processors established in third countries, as defined by the Commission Decision of 5 February 2010 (2010/87/EC), apply to the organisation that receives said personal data.

How to exercise your rights

You have the right to access your personal data at any time. You also have the right to request that the data be rectified, deleted, or to limit or object to the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability as stipulated by applicable regulations.

If you have any questions about this privacy policy or wish to exercise the abovementioned rights, send an email to dpo@econocom.com. You are also entitled to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés) the French authority in charge of ensuring personal data protection.

Changes to the privacy policy

Econocom reserves the right to edit this privacy policy and to alter or delete access to this website; Econocom may also edit its content at any time, with or without giving notice thereof.
