Econocom fully adheres to the recycling initiatives required by legislation, and in particular through its proactive approach to the administrative, logistics, legal and social dimensions of waste recycling.
The legal framework
A European directive, transposed into French law by the order of July 20, 2005, for the processing of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) applies strict and complex conditions to the disposal of old IT equipment. If this directive is not obeyed, businesses are liable to prosecution.
Producers, retailers and end users are all responsible for the disposal of waste equipment.
How can we help you to solve this problem?
Econocom has developed a program to help you manage the disposal of end-of-life IT hardware. This program is called "secondlife'IT".
secondlife'IT can be adapted to meet your individual needs
Econocom can act as your single point of contact for the management of your old hardware and the organization of recycling according to the law and the conditions of the European Directive.
The secondlife'IT program includes the following services:
- Possible inventory of your equipment for recycling,
- Detailed report on the steps to be taken and the rules to be obeyed by product type and type of acquisition,
- Collection and preparation for shipment of equipment for retrieval,
- Removal and delivery to the different recycling sites
- Tracking of the dismantling process with certified organizations and/or subcontractors
- The dismantling report and reuse of all reusable parts
- Delivery of ad hoc documents and legal certificates,
- The complete report of the dismantling operation.
The secondlife'IT program offers the following guarantees:
- Processing of your old hardware by the French reprocessing industry, and preferred certified eco-organizations, suitable contractors and/or new businesses
- Reuse of your old hardware in strict accordance with the decree of 20/07/2005
- Secure collection and/or destruction of your data stored in the memory
- A suitable legal environment and documentation for your situation,
- All legal certificates required by the authorities.
